Terms and Conditions

Version 1.0Effective from 1 October 2026

Using QITAF Events

These terms govern your use of the QITAF Events application and its public pages. They are short on purpose: the App is free, informational, and asks nothing of you. Please read them together with the Privacy Policy, which forms part of them.

  1. About these terms

    The QITAF Events application (the “App”) is owned by Qitaf Educational Company, Doha, State of Qatar (“Qitaf”, “we”, “us”), and is published by Qitaf on the app stores. By downloading, installing or using the App you agree to these Terms and to the Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.

  2. What the App is

    The App is a free, informational service presenting Qitaf’s events: their programme, speakers, sponsors, partners and archive. It has no accounts, sign-in, forms or payments. Registering for an event, and anything else that needs a form, takes place on the official event website, under that website’s own terms and privacy policy.

  3. Content accuracy and changes

    We take care to publish accurate content, but it is provided for general information. Agendas, session times, halls, speakers, sponsors and partners may change, sometimes at short notice, and the official announcements of the event organiser and the event website prevail over the App. A screen opened from the copy saved on your device may be older than the latest published content. Archived events are presented as a historical record. Information about third parties, such as partner descriptions and links, is based on what those parties provided.

  4. Notifications

    Notifications are optional and are provided for convenience. Delivery depends on your device, its settings, your network and third-party services, so a notification may arrive late or not at all. Please do not rely on notifications alone for anything time-critical.

  5. Your licence to use the App

    Qitaf grants you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable and revocable licence to install and use the App on devices you own or control, for your own non-commercial use, in accordance with these Terms and the rules of the store you downloaded it from.

  6. Acceptable use

    You agree not to:

    • copy, modify, distribute, sell or rent the App or its content;
    • decompile, reverse-engineer or disassemble the App, except to the extent the law expressly permits;
    • access the App’s servers or content service by any means other than the App itself — including scraping, automated scripts or bulk downloading;
    • probe, scan or test the vulnerability of the App or its servers, bypass any security measure or usage limit, or place an unreasonable load on the service;
    • interfere with the App’s operation or introduce any malicious code;
    • impersonate Qitaf or any event, or present the App’s content as your own;
    • use the App in any way that breaches the laws of the State of Qatar, including Law No. (14) of 2014 on Combating Cybercrimes.

    We may block any access that breaches these rules, and may refer unlawful conduct to the competent authorities.

  7. Reporting a security issue

    If you believe you have found a security weakness in the App or its servers, please report it privately to info@qitaf-edu.qa with the subject “Security”, and do not exploit it, test it further or disclose it publicly. These Terms do not authorise any security testing; that requires Qitaf’s prior written permission.

  8. Intellectual property

    The App, its design, software and text, and the Qitaf name and marks, belong to Qitaf or its licensors. Each event’s logo and materials, and the names, logos and images of sponsors, partners and speakers, belong to their respective owners and appear with their permission. Nothing in these Terms grants you any right to use them. If you believe any content in the App infringes your rights, please contact us and we will review it promptly.

  9. External links

    The App links to websites and apps that Qitaf does not control, including event websites, partner websites, email, phone and WhatsApp. Qitaf is not responsible for their content, availability or practices, and your use of them is governed by their own terms.

  10. Availability and updates

    We aim to keep the App available and up to date, but we do not guarantee that it will be uninterrupted, error-free or compatible with every device. We may change, suspend or withdraw any part of the App or its content, carry out maintenance, or require you to install an update to continue using it.

  11. Disclaimer

    The App is provided free of charge, “as is” and “as available”. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Qitaf makes no warranties of any kind, express or implied, about the App or its content, including as to accuracy, fitness for a particular purpose or non-infringement.

  12. Limitation of liability

    To the fullest extent permitted by the laws of the State of Qatar, Qitaf, its staff and its service providers are not liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential loss arising from the use of, or inability to use, the App — including reliance on content that has since changed, a missed session, travel or accommodation costs, or loss of data on your device. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits any liability that cannot be excluded or limited under Qatari law.

  13. Indemnity

    You agree to compensate Qitaf for any loss or claim arising from your breach of these Terms or your misuse of the App.

  14. App stores

    These Terms are between you and Qitaf. Apple and Google are not parties to them and have no responsibility for the App, its content or its support. Your use of the App must also comply with the terms of the store you downloaded it from; where Apple’s standard licence applies, these Terms supplement it.

  15. Ending use

    You may stop using the App at any time by uninstalling it. We may suspend or end your access if you breach these Terms. Clauses that by their nature should continue — including intellectual property, the disclaimer, limitation of liability and governing law — survive.

  16. Changes to these terms

    We may update these Terms. The current version is always published on this page and inside the App, with its version number and effective date. Continuing to use the App after a change takes effect means you accept the updated Terms.

  17. Governing law

    These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Qatar, and the courts of the State of Qatar have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them.

  18. General

    If any clause is found invalid, the remaining clauses continue in effect. These Terms and the Privacy Policy are the entire agreement between you and Qitaf about the App. They are published in Arabic and English; if the two differ, the Arabic text prevails.
